Ever since we’ve known ourselves, one truth has remained: nothing stays the same forever.
Babies grow. Trees stretch out. Weather shifts. Our bodies, minds, friends, and families change too. Change is constant. It’s what keeps the world alive, not just the living beings, but the world that contains them.
Sometimes change brings growth. Other times it brings loss or discomfort. But either way, we’re never really standing still. We may not control the outcome, but we control how we respond, what we do, and the energy we show up with.
That’s where your why matters.
Your why is your root. It’s what helps you hold on when things get messy. It’s the quiet reason behind the steps you take daily. So ask yourself:
Why am I doing what I’m doing?
Then try the 5 Whys technique. For example: let’s say someone wants to start waking up early:
I want to start waking up at 5 AM.
Why?
Because I want more time in the morning.
Why?
Because I feel rushed when my day starts late.
Why?
Because I end up skipping my personal time for things like journaling or reading.
Why?
Because once work starts, I have no energy left for myself.
Why?
Because I want to feel in control of my day instead of feeling like I’m just reacting to everything.
Now it’s no longer about the alarm clock. It’s about ownership. About showing up for yourself before the world starts asking for pieces of you.
Once you find your deep why, let it stick to your heart. Let it guide your pace and help you stay rooted when things feel blurry. And if you’re figuring this out too, I’d love to hear your ‘why’ or what you’re working through.
From someone who’s been there: You are not alone, and every step you take counts ♥️.
