Written from my workspace in Ilorin, just staring at my LG TV monitor, overthinking what to post. I’m tryna be real but still worried I’ll sound like an idiot on Instagram, my mentor literally asked me into this 😅

You can't figure it all out in the beginning, but one thing is certain: when you do all you can with what you have, what you need to get what you want will come to you.

When we hear the word ‘learn,' it brings up boring moments of reading, cramming words, and spending extended time staring at what we don’t even understand or have any idea on how to make use of it. But that’s not it. It’s been wired into us through the traditional education system, where we’re meant to use our brains to cram facts and bulky information instead of using it to think creatively and effectively to solve problems and improve things

Learning is simply the process of understanding a concept, idea, skill, or data to gain experience and apply it to achieve results.

These results tell us to do more of what works or try another way to get the desired outcome, which we sometimes call success or failure.

In a world where things change daily and technology improves constantly, the major edge you can have is the ability to grow through adaptation, which comes from learning, not cramming.

But, before you worry about where to start, ask yourself, ‘Why do I want to learn this?, are you learning to understand how things are done?, to do them yourself?, to build skills that provide a service or a product to solve problems and improve things in your own way?, or do you need it to earn a promotion, boost your ability to do more, be more, and increase your value in the marketplace?

All these are worthwhile, each with unique needs and ways to learn effectively and achieve your desired results. Once your why is set, let's discuss the fundamentals of learning:

  • What do you want to learn about? This helps you figure out the next step

  • How can I learn what I want to learn? This includes asking the right questions in the right places, like Google, Quora, AI, professionals who’ve mastered it (though they’re often busy), or your intuition.

  • What do I need to learn? This is where resourcefulness kicks in, which includes finding learning resources like books, courses, blogs, videos, articles, podcasts, creating time, focus, and getting necessary tools.

  • Practice. Once you’ve nailed down your why, figured out how to learn, and identified what you need, the most important step is taking action.

  • Seek for Feedback

  • Iterate

You can't figure it all out in the beginning, but one thing is certain: when you do all you can with what you have, what you need to get what you want will come to you.

Just do one thing today. Search for what you want to learn, read a single page on that skill, listen to a podcast about it, watch a YouTube video on the basic things, read an article for just 2 minutes, and keep the vibe going.

You don’t need to learn everything before you start; you’ll just be a loaded rocket that goes nowhere. And when you don’t use what you know, the knowledge becomes an illusion.

Imagine if you’d started five years ago, where would you be now?. Don’t stress about that, now is the best time to start and avoid regretting it in five years.

Celebrate yourself for the decisions you make now: ‘To learn what you want to learn.’

From someone who’s been there: You are not alone, and every step you take counts ♥️.
